– (3 hours) Describes the operation of the welding machine and the fabrication process. Basic skills in basic computer software are used to create weld plans, setup computer control systems, operate machine controls, and develop automated welding techniques. Course content includes: (1) Welding fundamentals; (2) preparation for weld preparation; (3) welding procedures; and (4) safety procedures. Prerequisite: ADMF 117.

This is an advanced course designed to provide a basic foundation for the theory and practice of robotic welding. The course will cover the skills required to program, setup and operate robots as well as knowledge of quality standards that are needed to produce high quality welds. This is a hands-on course in which students will be required to program and operate multiple robots under the direct supervision of instructors. The course has a more practical focus compared to other welding courses offered at PCOM due to the location of the robot labs
