This course is a survey of the techniques and strategies for effective writing in various genres. The course will be divided into two sections: the first section will explore the conventions and processes of effective writing, and the second section will provide exercises in language-specific analysis, rhetorical analysis, and organization. Writing exercises are done in class. Prerequisite(s): ENGL 100 or ENGL 101 or ENG 101 or IELTS equivalent; placement into ENGL 210 is required
