ENGL 349G Course Faculty Qualifications
Course Overview: Gloria Anzaldua’s work is important to both young and older students because of its intersection of cultural and political theory. Anzaldua reads her own life as a colonized subject, as a form of protest against the colonial violence that she experienced. She also provides an example for students seeking to recover their own cultural and political histories through writing. This course will help students develop an understanding of this tradition while also exploring methods for engaging with literature and creating new texts.
