Course Overview This course will explore the art of the Victorian novel, including such topics as its history, its origins in fairy tales and fables, the aspects of social commentary, and how it can be used to understand nineteenth century thought. Students are required to complete a significant reading assignment for each week of the course. Reading assignments are assigned at various times throughout the term. Each week’s assignment includes an open discussion board question that requires students to respond to other students’ comments. In addition, students must
