The Fiat Lux Freshman Seminars offer students the opportunity to read challenging and engaging books in a small, intimate setting that emphasizes discussion, interpretation, and critical thinking. Students will explore topics ranging from politics, social justice, culture, and religion to a variety of current issues. Course Information This course is designed to familiarize you with the basics of nursing including the fundamentals of health and illness, concepts of therapeutic communication, medical terminology and procedures, ethical principles of nursing practice, legal responsibilities, and basic medical/surgical skills. Students will also be introduced to the components of the clinical setting and its role in the nursing process.
