and the third part takes place in Jerusalem. In the first part everyone wants to know who Jesus is. The second part the disciples are trying to figure who Jesus is and what it means to be the messiah. Third part is how Jesus becomes the King. In Mark 9:30-50 there is a lot to be said. In this time his disciples were arguing about who is the greatest. Jesus teaches his disciples that in order for them to be the greatest they must come last. Mark 9:35 âWhoever wants to be first must be last of all and servant of allâ. By this he means that you should always put others before yourself and you should help anyone you can. He then goes on to explain to them in Mark 9:37 âWhoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me
and whoever welcomes me welcomes not me but the who sent me.â During this time children were considered to be the lowest status person in the household. From there he goes on to explain sin. He gives them warnings on discipline. If any of you put a stumbling block before one of these little ones who believe in me
it would be better for you if a great milestone were hung around your neck and you were thrown into the sea. (Mark 9:42) If your hand causes you to stumble
cut if off; it is better for you to enter life maimed than to have two hands and go to hell
to the unquenchable fire. (Mark 9:43)
